Homeschoolers Educating, Assisting, & Reaching-out Through Service
November 15-21 will mark the 85th annual Children's Book Week. Begun in 1919, Book Week is
promoted each year by the Children's Book Council in order to encourage literacy and love of
reading among America's youth.  H.E.A.R.T.S. would like to celebrate Children's Book Week by
donating books to children in need. To this end, members of H.E.A.R.T.S. will be collecting
children's books and/or donating books from their own collections to
local homeless and domestic
violence shelters (please click link to find a location near you.)  Or books can be donated to your
local
Reach Out and Read / Pass the Book programs (click link to find a location near you.)  Please
be sure to include a note with your books stating that the books are being donated by an
individual/familiy/group participating in H.E.A.R.T.S. -Perhaps you can also include bookmarks
(made or designed by children) stating a sentiment such as:

~   "Happy Reading!  From People with H.E.A.R.T.S. (www.H-E-A-R-T-S.org)"    ~

November 14-20 will mark the 86th annual Children's Book Week. Begun in 1919, Book Week is promoted each year by

the Children's Book Council in order to encourage literacy and love of reading among America's youth.



This year, local homeschooling families have decided to celebrate Children's Book Week by donating books to children in

need. To this end, members of H.E.A.R.T.S. (Homeschoolers Educating, Assisting, & Reaching-out Through Service) will

be collecting children's books to donate to local shelters and to the local Reach Out and Read program.  Many

homeschool children will also be creating special bookmarks to include as well.  In honor of Book Week, the books

collected by members of
[COUNTY NAME] County H.E.A.R.T.S. will be delivered to [SHELTER or PROJECT NAME  on

[DATE OFDELIVERY].
