During the months of July & August, H.E.A.R.T.S. participants are collecting &
donating school supplies to children in need.

To Participate In This Effort Please:

1) Select a recipient. If you don't have a recipient in mind, here are a few links that may
help: LOCAL HOMELESS SHELTERS - LOCAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTERS .

2) Contact the recipient of your choice to confirm delivery details.

3) Begin collecting donations - either by purchasing supplies to donate - or by collecting
school supplies from others to donate.

4) Include a note identifying yourself as a participant in this H.E.A.R.T.S. community
service effort.

5) (OPTIONAL) Submit a press release (see below for prepared press release – or write
your own if you prefer) sometime during the month ofJuly (or as near this time as
possible.) If you are able to, it would be great to also submit a "wrap-up" press release
(and pictures if possible) after you have completed your project as well. - [If you
compose any press releases for any project we would be grateful if you would send
a copy H.E.A.R.T.S. as well - for posting on our website -- for by other participants
and/or posting on the “Bulletin Board" - they are GREAT inspiration!] - Press
Releases are always optional - but encouraged and *appreciated*!!

6) Sometime during the month of August (or whatever date has been arranged with your
recipient) deliver as agreed.

LOCAL EFFORT TO GATHER SUPPLIES FOR CHILDREN IN NEED

[YOUR CITY/STATE] During the months of July and August, home educating families with
H.E.A.R.T.S. (Homeschoolers Educating, Assisting, & Reaching-out Through Service) will be
gathering school supplies for donation to local children in need. Hundreds of homeschoolers
throughout the United States are expected to participate in this project in their own
communities. Supplies- such as paper, notebooks, book-bags, lunch boxes, and filled pencil
cases will be donated, collected, and delivered. Donations will be made to benefit children in
homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters, as well as through other agencies assisting
children in need. Locally, donations will be made to (charity) in (city, state.)

H.E.A.R.T.S., founded in New Jersey in 2004, has quickly spread through the efforts of home
educating families- who frequently are involved in community service as part of their everyday
learning and living. Community participation from all sources is always welcomed and
appreciated. More information about the ‘School Supplies’ project, as well as about all future
