You are invited to participate in any or all of the 7 annual themes listed below.  There
are many ways to support the theme - and one featured project for each that will
contain complete instructions for completion.  Most projects will allow each individual /
family to participate near your own home through links to local charities - nationwide.

Featured Projects: The Hats 4 the Homeless program is requesting new and/or handmade
adult hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, socks, etc. -  Appalachian Outreach, Inc. request ALL,
including 'recycled' and/or children's- hats, mittens, coats, boots, and other winter warmth
items.  Other theme ideas include donating these  items to your local homeless shelter or

Featured Projects: Christmas Stockings for the children of Pine Ridge Reservation and
Shoebox Santa for adults through Appalachian Outreach, Inc.  Other theme ideas include

Featured Project: Handmade and/or purchased holiday cards for residents, especially
children, of your local homeless shelter.  Other theme ideas include bringing or sending

Featured Project:  Handmade and/or purchased Valentines for residents of your local
nursing home.  Creating cards is a great community service project for children of all

Featured Project:  Project Linus- Handmade blankets for seriously ill children.  Instructions
are available to create a handmade fleece blanket simply by cutting and knotting fringe -
sewing/knitting skills are not necessarily required.  Other theme ideas include creating a
handmade blanket for your local nursing home or homeless shelter or donating old
